A NEW CHAPTER IN MTB COACH EDUCATION - GSMBC is an independent organization with no affiliation to PMBIA or other certifications, but it’s built by the same experienced team that helped shape modern mountain bike instructor training. With over two decades of industry leadership, our founders—including the former PMBIA Technical Director and key members of the technical team and trainer network—are bringing their passion and expertise to GSMBC.
HERE TO STAY. READY TO EVOLVE - Mountain bike education is what we do best, and we’re more motivated than ever to elevate coaching standards while driving innovation and excellence. With GSMBC, we’re building on a 20-year legacy—but in many ways, it feels like we’re just getting started. As we push our own limits, we’re excited to help you discover yours. At GSMBC, we recognize change can come with questions, which is why we’re here to help reassure you that although GSMBC might seem ‘new’ it’s really the evolution of everything we’ve done over the last 20 years and so our mission is to continue doing what we’ve always done - to provide the industry with a top-tier, professional coach education & certification system. Here’s some key initiatives we are implementing to support instructors and coaches as we continue to roll out GSMBC:
FREE & EASY CROSSOVERS FOR PMBIA INSTRUCTORS - If you choose, you can submit your cert to GSMBC to receive the equivalent GSMBC Coach Certification - so if you decide to train with GSMBC, you can simply carry on where you left off! No need to retrain or recertify and no need to pay for a GSMBC membership.

Not PMBIA Certified? There’s a crossover process for you too - we welcome everyone!
MAKING MTB COACH EDUCATION MORE ACCESSIBLE - We're dedicated to ensuring mountain bike coach education is affordable and accessible as possible. That’s why we’re offering lower course prices and introducing new Online Education Courses (OECs) and webinars this spring and summer. Our goal is to provide flexible learning opportunities so more coaches—regardless of location or financial situation—can grow, connect, and thrive.
FLEXIBLE MEMBERSHIP OPTIONS - GSMBC’s optional membership tiers help keep on-bike course costs down while allowing coaches and instructors to choose if, when, and how much they contribute each season. Need access to online courses but already have gear discounts? A basic membership might be the perfect fit. With multiple options, you can choose what works best for you.
